Salaried GP with view to Partnership

Craig Nevis Surgery, Fort William Health Centre, Camaghael, Fort William PH33 7AQ

Located at the foot of Ben Nevis in the Outdoor Capital of the UK, Craig Nevis Surgery is ideally situated for those with an interest in outdoor activities such as mountain biking and skiing.

We are looking to recruit a salaried GP working 4 to 6 sessions per week with the opportunity to cover extra sessions for Partners during periods of absence for example annual leave and sickness.  There is the opportunity to increase sessions with the potential to become a GP Partner when one of our current Partners retires later in the year.


With a list size of approximately 3800 patients our small, friendly team provide general medical services.  Our catchment area spans from Onich to Glenfinnan to Letterfinlay.

Our team consists of 3 GP Partners, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Paramedical Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Healthcare Assistant, along with an extended multi-disciplinary team including Pharmacy Team and First Contact Physiotherapist, community nurses, midwives, social workers and health visitors. They are all supported by an efficient administration team.


Our practice is an accredited training practice involved in the training of GP Registrars and medical students.

There is no requirement to work out of hours or weekends as this out of hours cover is provided by NHS Highland (NHS Highland sessions available locally if desired).  This post attracts a 'Golden Hello' payment.

Care Navigator (6 month fixed contract)

Hours of work:         7 hours a day over 5 days between 0800 and 180o

                                35 hours per week with extra hours to cover absence as required.                

                                   

Responsible to:        Practice Manager

 

 Job Descriptiion

The Care Navigator is one of the administrative team and contribute to the daily office routine.  You will cover the reception area, switchboard and back office on a rotational basis and any administrative duties as directed. 

Purpose of Role

  • To cover reception and answer telephone on a rotational basis during surgery hours
  • Signpost patients to the most appropriate care provider both within and out with the surgery
  • Support and assist clinical staff in any administrative task as required
  • To be involved in the training of students and registrars
  • To undertake summarising of clinical notes and typing of clinical letters and referrals as directed
  • To undertake any other duties as requested
